Hi there! I’m J.A.Forde
Author of swoony romances full of real characters you can’t help but root for.
When I’m not writing you’ll find me with my nose stuck in a book... Or more realistically, you’ll find me chasing my two kids, spending time with my husband, and helping our household to thrive.
I am an avid reader though and adore the way I can get lost in a world outside my own every time I flip those pages.
I never thought I’d write a book. Never thought I’d have a story to tell. But lo and behold, here I am, and I have never loved an adventure more!

The Love Along the Way series is fade-to-black. You still get all of the
chemistry, tension, and steam (including toe-curling kisses) but you won’t
find explicit details on the page of what happens when the lights go off, or the
door closes. I’m not closing the door (pun intended) on ever writing open
door scenes or books. But it has to feel like a necessary part of the story and be
right for my characters.
My writing contains mature themes and some explicit language and is
therefore intended for audiences 18+. My debut novel, On a Flight to
Sydney, deals with PTSD and panic attacks (on page) due to military trauma
(described in detail), a narcissistic parent and parental neglect, and a brief
mention of an attempted sexual assault (not detailed) . Protect your peace and
mental health. If this book is not for you, that is okay!
I write within the Contemporary Romance and Romantic Comedy genres.
What if the very last thing you’re looking for turns out to be exactly what
you need?
Joss Morgan is perfectly happy with her life in Sydney, thank-you-very-
much. She may be single, have only one true friend, and live alone… but she
doesn’t need a man… or more friends… or anything at all.
Wes Anderson boards a flight to Sydney intent on escaping the cinders of his
life—the dreams that have all gone up in smoke. One year. One year of
freedom to be anyone he wants; that is, anyone but the man he always
thought he'd be.
When Joss and Wes’s worlds collide, he steals her breath—in more ways than
one—and she seems to steal all the space in his already full head. Now, life is
determined to throw them together and what starts as an awkward dance of
unlikely friendship—each trying to contain their own emotional landmines—
turns into something they never saw coming.
But can two people with enough baggage to bring down a plane help each
other heal? With their pasts lurking around every corner like airport
security, Joss and Wes must decide:
Is it safer to fly solo or would a life together be worth all the risk?

Wanting each other is easy…
It’s everything else that’s hard.
Breck Kylie’s perfect life unravels in a squall of betrayal, leaving him and his
seven-year-old daughter reeling. Choosing to retreat from the sunny shores
of Sydney, Australia, they embark on an extended vacation to Lake Tahoe in
hopes they’ll find a new ‘normal’ on the snowy slopes.
Rory Anderson had big dreams once, but years of living in a blizzard of
impossible expectations has beaten her down. Stuck in a cycle of fear and self-
doubt, she’s living a life she’s unsure she truly wants. So, when her brother
asks her to help his best friend get settled in Tahoe, she agrees with a
renewed sense of purpose.
When Breck’s personal hurricane meets Rory’s frozen fears, they find
themselves in the eye of the storm—a quiet place where connection and clarity
finally break through. For Rory, it’s a chance to focus on her own dreams. For
Breck, it’s a glimpse of the future he thought was shattered.
Finding solace in each other is supposed to be a short-lived thing, but what
happens when they find themselves feeling more than they bargained for?
Will they walk away, or will they fight to hold onto the peace they’ve only
ever found in each other?

In 4 Facts
I listen to more audiobooks than I read e-books or hard copies (about 70% of my reading is on audio).
Traveling and going on adventures are my favorite ways to pass the time. I’ve visited 14 countries and can’t wait to add more to that list.
I’m a military spouse so I’ve spend most of my adult life bouncing from place to place, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
- I adore indie authors and never pass up the opportunity to hype up another writer if I can. Beta reading has become such a joy and was part of creating a desire in me to write my own story!
